Social and Labor Behavior - C&A

This Observation Report presents a summary of the results of a survey conducted by the IOS – Social Observatory Institute (Instituto Observatório Social), in the period spanning March through June 2008, on the social and labor performance of six units of C&A, a transnational corporation acting primarily in the retail fashion industry. The driver for conducting a socio-labor survey at C&A started with an investigative story by Social Observatory in Review magazine published in May 2006. In that issue, the IOS showed how companies in the fashion retail industry, C&A among others, purchased merchandise from clandestine textile companies that exploit the labor of illegal immigrants in São Paulo.
